How Matching Gifts Work
When you make a donation, your employer may match it, doubling or even tripling the impact of your generosity. Each company has its own guidelines, but the process is usually simple. After you confirm eligibility, you submit a quick form to your employer. They verify the gift and send their matching contribution directly to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth.
This small extra step helps bring more resources to our build sites, volunteer programs, and the families we partner with.

Matching Gift FAQ's
-
Why do matching gifts matter?
Matching gifts play a meaningful role in strengthening our work. They help fund the building materials, site preparation, volunteer support, and program infrastructure needed to bring local families one step closer to stability through affordable homeownership.
When a gift is matched, its impact grows. More progress is made on the build site, more volunteers have what they need to contribute their time and skill, and more families can begin writing new chapters in a place they can call home.
Your matched gift moves this forward in a powerful way.
-
What types of gifts can be matched?
Most companies that offer an employee match will match online donations, mailed checks, payroll deductions, or gifts made through workplace giving programs. Some employers will match volunteers hours too!
-
Is there a minimum or maximum match amount?
Each company sets its own guidelines. Your company's matching gift page will outline any limits or requirements.
-
Can retirees or spouses submit matching gifts?
Some companies include retirees and spouses in their programs. This varies by employer.
-
How do I submit the match request?
After confirming eligibility, your employer will typically provide a form or online portal. Once submitted, they send the match directly to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth.
