Immediate Needs

We Need Your Help!

ATTORNEYS:  We are in need of legal council that would be willing to join our board of directors or help with the closings on our families homes.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS:  We will be having many openings on our Board of Directors.  If you are interested in filling a seat please contact the office.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Oversees human resources for committees and the Board of Directors; recommends additions as needed; prepares for the Annual Meeting in March.
a)  IMMEDIATE NEED --- NEW MEMBERS.

MARKETING COMMITTEE: we have a need for graphic designers to join this committee to help produce the many printed and web projects that come down the pike each year. 

SITE SELECTION COMMITTEE: usually meet once of month. They really need members who are willing to do the basic work for helping to acquire land within our 6 towns, to do research during the day if possible, meet with Town planning boards, etc. . They are also working with deeds and permits for the Kingston build, another lot in Kingston, the next Plymouth build, and yet another lot in Plymouth. They reach out and attend meetings in towns trying to find resources for acquiring land.  a) IMMEDIATE NEED: NEW MEMBERS.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE: meets when necessary. Writes many press releases, does appearances on local media, coordinates media events, photographs our builds/events, and writes articles for the newsletter that is published 2 times a year.
a) IMMEDIATE NEED - Good writers ... access to email is crucial.

CHURCH RELATIONS COMMITTEE: interfaces with all church partners for volunteers & other support functions; conducts "Road Shows" (info sessions for groups interested in HfH).

a) IMMEDIATE NEED NEW MEMBERS
b) IMMEDIATE NEED for a CONTACT PERSON in his/her church. This person would help find volunteers for builds, to make lunches for the builds, and fundraisers.

FAMILY SUPPORT COMMITTEE: meets as a committee every other month plus meets with all families as a group twice a year. It works with each family that is selected for a Habitat home. A committee member acts as sponsor for the family, making a commitment to be available to help the family during the build and after they move in. The sponsor relays information about Habitat procedures to the family, brings questions and concerns back to the Habitat organization, and monitors the "sweat equity" hours. Other committee members participate in discussions and/or workshops with the family and may assist them in specific areas such as budgeting, home maintenance, or utilizing community resources.
IMMEDIATE NEED:  NEW MEMBERS

HABITAT BUILDS: MEETS ON SATURDAYS 8-3 at the site of the build. (NOTE: You MUST be at least 16 to work on site and at least 18 to work with power tools with approval from Site Supervisor)

SPECIAL PROJECTS BUILD COMMITTEE: builds special, small projects (e.g., wheelchair ramps), sometimes works during the week. 

FUND RAISING COMMITTEE: - needs help with: a)  ongoing events.
